A simple AI tool for family resemblance and face similarity
LooksCompare was built to make visual face comparison easy to understand and easy to use. The main family test stays intentionally simple: upload a child photo, a mom photo and a dad photo, then review the AI similarity estimates.
Why LooksCompare exists
People have always asked familiar questions such as “Who does the child look like more?” or “Do these two faces resemble each other?” LooksCompare turns that curiosity into a quick, structured comparison using AI-based facial similarity analysis.
The project is designed around one principle: the tool should be useful without pretending to be something it is not. A similarity score can be interesting and informative, but it is not DNA evidence, identity verification, a medical conclusion or a legal determination.
What we focus on
Simple experience
The family test is kept straightforward so users can reach the photo upload immediately instead of searching through a complicated interface.
Clear limitations
We explain that results are estimates based on uploaded photos and can change with lighting, angle, age, expression and image quality.
Useful education
The Learning Center explains how face comparison works, what similarity scores mean and how to use image-comparison tools responsibly.
What LooksCompare is not
LooksCompare is not a paternity test, identity-verification service, forensic platform or medical diagnostic system. It should not be used for decisions about parentage, legal identity, immigration, security, health or any other high-stakes matter.
How the site is developing
LooksCompare started as a focused family resemblance tool and is being expanded with educational content about face similarity, photo quality, privacy, accuracy and responsible use. The goal is to keep the main tool simple while giving users who want more detail a place to learn.
